Tankless Water Heaters

Plumbing is one of the oldest and most basic of household conveniences, dating back to ancient times. Though many features of household and municipal water systems haven’t changed since their invention, there are still innovations to be found. One of these innovations is the tankless water heater.

What is a “Tankless” Water Heater?
A tankless water heater is a gas or electric unit that heats water on demand, as opposed to storing it until it’s needed. There are two basic models: a point-of-use model or a whole house system. The requirements of the household or facility using a tankless unit will usually determine its size and placement. Other factors include:

The ambient temperature of the water to be heated
The flow rate, measured in Gallons Per Minute, or GPMs
The desired heating temperature

How Do They Work?
These units save time, money and space by heating the water where and as it’s needed. A tankless water heater is activated when the tap is turned on and deactivated when the tap is closed. The water flows through the unit and is heated en route to its final destination by passing over either heating coils or a gas-powered burner.

It’s easy to go to a business website to learn about different products and services they provide, but the better ones do more than act as online catalogs. They often contain specific tips that can save customers time and money or offer online forums and blogs. Action Air Plumbing is an example of a company that provides information and services to their customers.
